Fertilizers and Their Properties
Dragon Dung
Dragon Dung is fertilizer that has been obtained from the stool of fire-breathing dragons. The dung makes an effective fertilizer, due to the acids found in dragon stomachs, which Herbologists have found to be effective in breaking down certain materials in the soil to their most natural state. A big selling point for dragon dung is the fact that it's odor-less, thus is disturbs neither the plants nor the Herbologists; this effect is due to the supposed process that dragons go through when producing their fire, the process, however, has not been confirmed by dragon keepers.
A noted use for dragon dung is as compost in order to make a more organic fertilizer.
Centaur Tears
A very popular drink amongst plants, Centaur Tears are more vitamin rich than regular water, which is why "you will find healthy plants in abundance near any Centaur's dwelling place". Centaur Tears are mostly recognized for their ability to revive a plant moments from death. While many plants love Centaur Tears and prefer them to water, some plants find the Tears to be quite toxic, such as plants that grown in salt water.
Centaur Tears are perhaps mostly known for being ethically controversial due to capturing methods some 'Tear Hunters' practice in order to get the Tears. While Ministry laws protect Centaurs, not all 'Tear Hunters' abide by this law, and thus are not as reputable as others. While classified as "beasts" by the Ministry, they're quite smart - smarter than most of us, actually - thus they take good care over their forests and land, usually using their tears to care for the various plants on their land - they're not to be messed with.
Mooncalf Dung
Often used for more sensitive plants, Mooncalf is an effective fertilizer when the strength and power of dragon dung is not necessary. This fertilizer is a good choice for soil that is already vitamin rich.
